Each day of the week is governed by a planet, and each planet carries a specific type of energy. Timing your spells and rituals to align with the right planetary day can meaningfully amplify your work.
It sounds complicated. It isn't. Once you know which day is which, it becomes second nature.
Monday is ruled by the Moon. Its energy is intuitive, emotional, psychic and deeply feminine. Monday is the best day for: dream work and divination, emotional healing, working with the subconscious, matters of the home and family, psychic development, fertility and cycles, and any work connected to water or the tides of feeling.
Crystals: Moonstone, selenite, labradorite, pearl, aquamarine. Colours: White, silver, pale blue.
Tuesday is ruled by Mars, the planet of action, courage and conflict. Tuesday's energy is fierce, direct and driven. Use it for: protection magic, banishing and cord cutting, spells requiring bold action or courage, overcoming obstacles, setting firm boundaries, physical energy and endurance, and any situation requiring strength.
Crystals: Red jasper, bloodstone, garnet, black tourmaline. Colours: Red, black, orange.
Wednesday belongs to Mercury, the planet of communication, intellect, travel and trickery. This is the best day for: communication spells (job interviews, difficult conversations, negotiations), travel protection, learning and study, writing, technology and business matters, contracts and agreements, and spells involving quick change or speed.
Crystals: Clear quartz, citrine, agate, fluorite. Colours: Yellow, orange, multicolour.
Thursday is ruled by Jupiter — the planet of expansion, abundance, luck and higher wisdom. It is arguably the luckiest day of the week for prosperity work. Use Thursday for: abundance and money spells, legal matters and justice, growth in business or career, travel to new places, higher education and wisdom, attracting good fortune, and expanding any area of your life.
Crystals: Citrine, pyrite, green aventurine, tiger's eye, amethyst. Colours: Purple, green, gold.
Friday is Venus's day — the planet of love, beauty, pleasure and relationships. It is the classic day for love spells, but Venus rules far more than romance. Use Friday for: love and relationship magic, self-love and confidence, beauty and glamour, friendships and social connection, creativity and the arts, fertility and sensuality, and attracting what you desire.
Crystals: Rose quartz, rhodonite, malachite, emerald, pink tourmaline. Colours: Pink, green, copper.
Saturday is Saturn's day — the planet of boundaries, discipline, time and endings. Saturday carries heavy, slow, serious energy. It is not a day for light or joyful spells — it is a day for deep, serious work. Use Saturday for: banishing and removal of negativity or unwanted people, protection and warding, binding spells, ancestor work, breaking bad habits, shadow work, binding legal matters, and endings of all kinds.
Crystals: Black obsidian, smoky quartz, black tourmaline, onyx, apache tears. Colours: Black, dark grey, indigo.
Sunday is ruled by the Sun — the planet of life force, success, identity and healing. It carries bright, expansive, outward energy. Sunday is ideal for: success spells of any kind, healing work, boosting confidence and personal power, solar rituals, gratitude and abundance, work involving leadership or recognition, and anything you want to grow, shine or be seen.
Crystals: Citrine, sunstone, carnelian, clear quartz, amber. Colours: Gold, yellow, orange, white.
You don't need to wait for the perfect day to do any ritual — intention is always the most powerful ingredient. But if you have flexibility, timing your work to align with the relevant planetary day adds an extra layer of resonance. Even something as simple as writing your intention down on the right day, or burning a candle in the aligned colour, counts as conscious magical timing.
